A small wading pool near the front desk, a quiet pool at the back of the property, the main pool at the center of the resort, and the preferred pool. if this is their upper-middle tier of rooms, what were the base rooms like? While a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things. The draft from the aircon made it easy to remember, at least. The track was there from where the door used to be, but I suspect it was removed relatively recently (to alleviate the alleged mold mentioned in reviews on other sites? I cannot be sure.) Likewise for the tub that was just in the middle of the bathroom. The rain shower had plenty of water pressure. There was a sliding door, but it did nothing to keep humidity separate or add to privacy. Where the dividing wall would usually be, there were instead 4 mini-mirrors, with spaces in between each. The toilet was the only part of the bathroom that did not have a sightline to the main room. The bathroom was very spacious with a separate tub, and the toilet enclosed in its own mini room. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing amazing here. The mini bar had soft drinks, a small bottle of tequila and some Mexican domestic beers. The view from the balcony overlooked the main pool with the beach and pier off to the right, with a small daybed, table, and two chairs. The room was as about spacious as I expected. I'm not sure how long it was out - the cheese was already soft. I did notice the WoH elite check in sign at both desks, so YMMV for non-globalists in non-club rooms - the check-in FDA was quick to point out we had access to preferred club areas from the room booked, and for being a WoH Globalist (I know there's been debate on this topic, but at least this FDA, at this property, made it a point to mention it)Īlso handed to us was a welcome letter, a map of the properties (as Secrets Guests, we had access to everything at Dreams and Sunscape, but not the other way around), and the activities calendar.Ī welcome gift with a Chilean red wine and cheese tray was placed out prior to our arrival. The bar was open, though we just wanted water after the morning we'd had. The A/C was nice (in contrast to the front desk for non-club guests, which is open air). Once we pulled up the driveway, the bellhops pulled our bags from the taxi and gave us a brief tour of the property on the way to check in at the Preferred Lounge. Apologies ahead of time for the lack of photos, I was trying to stay off my phone this vacation.Īs with most hotels in Mexico, upon arrival to the hotel, we gave the name on the reservation at the front gate. Room 1444, for anyone keeping score at home. We booked and stayed in a Preferred Club Superior Junior Suite. Girlfriend and I wanted to spend some time in Cozumel, ideally in an adults only resort, and with the current promos, this property made sense. Didn't see a thread for this property yet, so here we go.
